Menopause: it’s not the end; it’s the beginning

I am 44 years old. Hello, perimenopause. My whole life I have been worried and aware of my age, body, and weight. As I have aged, I have begun to appreciate my body and what it has done. It has birthed and nourished 2 amazing children. It has competed in mud runs, 5ks, and done numerous HIIT workouts. It has endured disordered eating in the teen years and in my early 2os. It has persevered through a traumatic back injury in my late 30s. I feel like that makes my body pretty kick ass, right? So, I don’t know why I disparage it so often.

The thing is, our bodies change in perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause. That’s just facts. The good new is there are so many tweaks we can make to our diet (and when I say “diet” I mean what we eat normally, not a fad that we have prescribed to for a few weeks or months) and our training that can support our bodies during these changes. We CAN still build muscle, lose fat, and train for races. We CAN reach and exceed our goals. The key is SUPPORTING our bodies in our natural rhythms and embracing what our bodies can accomplish. We just need to figure out what works the best for us. Guess what? I can help you do all of these things! Book a free introductory call to find out more!
